About College
Vidya Vikas B.Ed College is an off-shoot of Vidya Vikas Group of Institutions, was established in the year 2004, as a result of the mystical foresight and creative genius of the Honorable Chairman Sri. Vasu and the Honorary Secretary Sri. Kaveesh Gowda V.
The College affiliated to University of Mysore and recognized by NCTE. The College is situated in an area of 65 acres of Vidya Vikas Group of Institutions Campus in the out skirts of Mysore City. The College organizes campus interview with the collaborations of many prestigious educational Institutions. Many of the student teachers studied here have occupied prestigious positions in various sectors in different capacities especially in the field of Education.
The College has well trained, experienced and efficient faculty members, who is serving whole heartedly for the good cause of education. All the facets of the Institution are taken care for further development and extension to become an ideal Institution.
B.Ed. is an undergraduate program with Choice Based Credit System & Continuous Assessment and Grading Pattern ( CBCS & CAGP) of two year duration (4 semesters) leading to the bachelor’s degree in education. Normally the program starts in December /January every year and ends in November /December.
COURSE STRUCTURE: A course is the basic component of an academic programme. It is identified by a course name (i.e like, `Instructional process’). All courses are considered for earning credits to secure a degree Course: Every Course offered will have three components associated with the teaching-learning process of the course, namely (i) Lecture (L) (ii) Tutorial (T) (ii) Practical (P), where L stands for lecture session. T stands for tutorial session consisting participatory discussion/self study/desk work/brief seminar presentations by students and any other novel methods…. In terms of credits, every one hour session of L amounts to 1 credit per semester and a minimum of two hour session of T or P amounts to 1 credit per semester over a period of one semester of 18 weeks and 20 weeks is 22 weeks inclusive of semester-end-examination.
